BATAMCLICK.COM: The Batam Manpower Office (Disnaker) in the Riau Islands (Kepri) recorded revenue from foreign worker (TKA) permit renewal retribution in 2024 amounting to IDR 39.9 billion. This figure reached 87.27 percent of the Revised Regional Budget (APBD) target of IDR 45.72 billion.
The Head of Batam Disnaker, Rudi Sakyakirti, explained that the initial target for TKA retribution revenue in the 2024 Main Budget was set at IDR 41.72 billion. However, this target was adjusted to IDR 45.72 billion after an additional IDR 4 billion allocation in the Revised APBD.
“This revenue was obtained from 2,184 foreign workers who renewed their work permits. Meanwhile, the total number of foreign workers recorded in Batam throughout 2024 reached 5,017 individuals,” Rudi said in Batam on Wednesday (22/1/2025).
He added that categories such as new foreign workers, short-term workers (less than six months), and those working in Special Economic Zones (KEK) or non-DKPTKA sectors such as government agencies, international organizations, religious institutions, or social organizations, are not included in regional retribution calculations. Revenue from these categories is classified as Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP).
“Retribution revenue only accounts for workers renewing their employment contracts,” he clarified.
For 2025, the Batam Manpower Office projects TKA retribution revenue of IDR 39.99 billion, with a realization target of IDR 46.01 billion.
“We are optimistic that this target can be achieved, alongside our efforts to manage foreign workers in Batam in accordance with regulations and support labor market needs,” Rudi concluded.
