BATAMCLICK.COM – The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Batam held a courtesy visit to the Batam Communication and Information Office (Kominfo) on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. This meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the press organization and the Batam City Government while fostering more productive partnerships in public information dissemination.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Batam Kominfo Office, Rudi Panjaitan. Qori Ul Fitra, the Chair of PWI Batam, stated that the meeting served as an opportunity to introduce the newly appointed board members and present PWI’s planned programs.
“We hope to establish cooperation with the Batam Kominfo Office to deliver accurate and beneficial information to the public,” said Qori. The meeting was also attended by PWI Batam Secretary Engesti Pedro, Treasurer Roma Uly Sianturi, and member Abdul Hamid, who also represented PWI Kepri.
Qori outlined several planned programs, including journalism training for members, roadshows, and writing competitions. These programs aim to enhance the skills of PWI members and support the dissemination of high-quality information in Batam.
Rudi Panjaitan expressed his appreciation for PWI Batam’s initiatives and reaffirmed Kominfo’s commitment to supporting programs aligned with public and developmental needs in Batam.
“We greatly value the media’s role as a strategic partner in development. The Kominfo Office is ready to support any positive activities undertaken by PWI Batam to improve the quality of public communication and news reporting,” Rudi stated.
This meeting is expected to be a starting point for stronger collaboration between journalists and the government in building a more advanced, informative, and transparent Batam. Through this partnership, both PWI Batam and the Kominfo Office are optimistic about making a meaningful contribution to the community.***
