BATAMCLICK.COM: The Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Itjen Kemenag) has reaffirmed its commitment to supervising the procurement process for Hajj services in 1446 Hijri/2025 CE in Saudi Arabia to ensure compliance with regulations and meet pilgrims’ expectations.
“Our goal is Zero Complaints. This assistance aims to ensure every process adheres to regulations and resolves any emerging issues,” said Khairunnas, Inspector I of Itjen Kemenag, in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
Khairunnas explained that this assistance aligns with directives from Inspector General Faisal Ali Hasyim. The Inspectorate is committed to providing strategic recommendations and identifying risks that need immediate mitigation by the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah (Ditjen PHU).
“The Inspectorate plays a role in supervising the entire procurement process, including accommodation, catering, transportation, and Masyair services,” he emphasized.
Inspector V of Itjen Kemenag, Ahmadun, highlighted the importance of effective risk mitigation to address technical and administrative challenges.
“Risk mitigation is crucial to ensure every stage complies with applicable regulations,” he stated.
He also emphasized the need for synergy between units to overcome challenges, ensuring optimal Hajj services that meet pilgrims’ expectations.
Commitment to Enhancing Services While Ensuring Cost Efficiency
The Director of Overseas Hajj Services at Kemenag, Muchlis Muhammad Hanafi, identified the main challenge in organizing the 2025 Hajj: reducing the cost of Hajj services without compromising service quality.
“We are committed to lowering Hajj costs while maintaining the quality of services. This is not an easy task, but with hard work and strong coordination, we are confident it can be achieved,” said Muchlis.
Muchlis also reported several achievements by the procurement team, such as securing most of the accommodation needs in Mecca. Negotiations for catering services have also been conducted in Medina and will proceed in Mecca.
He emphasized that all Hajj service contracts are carefully reviewed by Kemenag’s legal team to ensure legal compliance.
Focus on Masyair and Transportation Services
This year, the management of Masyair services is under particular focus as it will be handled by several syarikah for the first time. Currently, the selection process for service providers is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the transportation service procurement team has completed its work as of January 14, 2025.
Through these efforts, the Ministry of Religious Affairs hopes to provide Indonesian pilgrims with a comfortable and high-quality Hajj experience while achieving cost efficiency to ensure the sustainability of future Hajj programs.
