United to Serve Batam: 23 BP Batam Officials Inaugurated Under New Leadership Vision

BATAMCLICK.COM: In a ceremony held on Monday (June 16, 2025) at the Balarungsari Hall, the Head of Batam Indonesia Free Zone Authority (BP Batam), Amsakar Achmad, officially inaugurated 23 new Echelon II officials. The event marked an important step in accelerating Batam’s transformation into a more competitive and advanced region.

In his speech, Amsakar conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto envisions Batam as a strategic hub and has directed officials to accelerate its progress through effective governance and robust economic growth.

“Batam’s status as a Free Trade Zone and Free Port (KPBPB), supported by Special Economic Zones (KEK) and two National Strategic Projects (PSN), is a tremendous advantage. This momentum must be optimized to ensure Batam develops faster and more accurately,” Amsakar said.

Following the President’s mandate, Amsakar called on his newly appointed team to work immediately, aligning efforts to exceed national growth targets.

“President Prabowo directed me and Deputy Head Li Claudia to ensure that Batam’s economic growth surpasses the national average by 1.5 to 2 percent. That is one of our performance benchmarks,” he explained.

He expressed hope that each official would bring their best contributions to serve not only Batam, but also the Riau Islands and Indonesia as a whole.
