BATAM – The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration examined 12 Foreign Investment (PMA) companies in Batam, Riau Islands, which are on the list for revocation of Business Identification Numbers (NIB) by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). This examination was conducted through Operation Wira Waspada on March 11-12, 2025, to suppress immigration violations by Foreign Nationals (WNA).
Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement, Yuldi Yusman, explained that supervision was carried out through document checks, sudden inspections, and information gathering. The examination revealed 26 foreign nationals from 12 PMA companies requiring further action. Four companies had not fulfilled the Rp10 billion investment commitment, six companies were fictitious, and two companies had addresses different from those registered.
A total of 13 foreign nationals remain in Indonesia and will be included in the Immigration Wanted List (DPO), while nine foreign nationals abroad will have their residence permits revoked. Eight other foreign nationals were secured for allegedly violating immigration regulations, including an Austrian national suspected of establishing a fictitious company and four Chinese nationals who misused visit permits to work.
Additionally, Immigration is handling cases involving three Bangladeshi nationals who entered Indonesia without passing through Immigration Checkpoints and an Indian national suspected of forging a Limited Stay Permit.
Acting Director General of Immigration, Saffar Muhammad Godam, emphasized that this operation reflects the government’s commitment to enforcing immigration regulations and maintaining public order. He added that supervision aims to ensure that only quality foreign nationals can reside and engage in activities in Indonesia.
