BATAMCLICK.COM: – The Batam City Government in the Riau Islands has introduced an innovative program called the Tax Cadre, involving local communities to boost Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in 2025.
“This year, we are launching a new initiative by directly involving the community through the Tax Cadre program,” said the Secretary of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Batam City, M. Aidil Sahalo, in Batam on Tuesday (21/1/2025).
Aidil explained that the Tax Cadre program aims to empower the community as strategic partners of Bapenda. The cadres will act as intermediaries to disseminate information and tax policies while increasing awareness of the importance of paying taxes.
“With the presence of Tax Cadres, we hope the community not only becomes compliant taxpayers but also actively supports regional development,” Aidil stated.
The program is designed to address the challenge of increasing tax revenue targets in 2025. Bapenda Batam has set a target to increase hotel tax revenue by IDR 6 billion, from IDR 157 billion in 2024 to IDR 163 billion.
“Hotel tax revenue in 2024 reached 101 percent of the target, amounting to IDR 159 billion,” Aidil added.
In addition to hotel taxes, the target for Certain Land and Service Taxes (PBJT) from the restaurant sector has also been raised from IDR 161 billion in 2024 to IDR 162.5 billion in 2025.
“However, restaurant tax revenue in 2024 only reached 93 percent of the target, amounting to IDR 151 billion,” he explained.
To achieve these targets, Bapenda Batam is implementing various innovations, such as installing transaction recording devices in hotels and restaurants, conducting a roadshow for Rural and Urban Land and Building Taxes (PBB P2), operating the Sarana Informasi Bus Interaksi Pajak (Si Bijak), and utilizing a digital billboard application called SIMREK.
With these strategic measures, Bapenda Batam is optimistic about significantly increasing PAD while strengthening the active role of the community in supporting regional economic growth.
