BATAMCLICK.COM: It was a different kind of evening in Ranai. As the sun began to set on Tuesday (June 17, 2025), the courtyard of Baitul Izzah Grand Mosque was filled with anticipation. Dozens of families, their eyes sparkling with emotion, gathered to welcome home Natuna’s pilgrims — the blessed guests of Allah who had completed their sacred journey to Mecca.
Leading the heartfelt reception was Regent of Natuna, Cen Sui Lan, accompanied by Vice Regent Jarmin, Regional Secretary Boy Wijanarko, members of the local parliament, religious leaders, and community figures. The event began with an Ashar prayer in congregation, symbolizing gratitude and unity between the returning pilgrims and the people of Natuna.
“First and foremost, we thank Allah SWT for safely bringing back our pilgrims. Today is truly a day of joy and gratitude,” said Regent Cen Sui Lan, her voice calm but full of emotion.
She congratulated the pilgrims for successfully fulfilling the fifth pillar of Islam, and expressed her hope that they return not only as Hajj pilgrims, but as role models and spiritual beacons within the community.
She also extended her deepest appreciation to all who contributed to this year’s Hajj program — from organizing committees and medical teams, to support staff and government departments who ensured the smooth journey.
According to H. Nasoha, Head of Hajj and Umrah Affairs at the Natuna Religious Affairs Office, a total of 57 pilgrims returned this year — 24 men and 33 women, representing various subdistricts across Natuna.
One of the most touching moments came when H. Mustaqim, S.IP, representing the pilgrims, shared his heartfelt testimony. With tears in his eyes, he expressed deep gratitude to the local government for their unwavering support.
“This journey was extraordinary. But what gave us strength was knowing that our homeland stood behind us. Thank you, Natuna,” he said, his voice trembling, drawing tears from those listening.
On that day, Natuna welcomed not just its pilgrims — but also their prayers, their hopes, and the blessings they brought home from the Holy Land.(elin)
