BATAMCLICK.COM: Behind the dynamic development of Batam lies a quiet but crucial effort: spatial planning that serves both progress and people. On Monday (June 16, 2025), the Regional Spatial Planning Forum (FPRD) gathered once again at the Batam City Hall — a critical space where long-term visions meet regulatory clarity.
Deputy Mayor of Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, led the meeting, accompanied by City Secretary Jefridin and BP Batam’s Deputy of Infrastructure, Mouris Limanto. The core agenda was reviewing applications for Spatial Utilization Activity Compliance (PKKPR) submitted by both business and non-business entities up to June 2025.
“Spatial planning is the best gateway for investment. Through a structured and transparent mechanism, we aim to ensure that every plan aligns with its intended purpose and benefits the public,” Li Claudia emphasized.
A total of 98 proposals were discussed: 96 business-related PKKPR applications, 1 non-business application, and 1 request for cancellation.
Beyond approvals, the forum served as a cross-agency dialogue that puts community welfare, security, environmental sustainability, and the protection of vital infrastructure at the center of every decision.
With strong collaboration between Batam City Government, BP Batam, and expert members of FPRD, the city demonstrates its commitment not only to economic growth but to well-directed, responsible, and people-centered development.
In Batam, investment is not just about buildings and numbers — it’s about building trust, improving lives, and protecting the shared future of its people.(rusdi)
