Indonesia is also actively advocating for the Palestinian interest in international organizations, such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, she added.

During the two-hour meeting with Jokowi, Al-Tayeb lamented Israel’s inhumane aggression in the Gaza Strip, which killed more than 38,000 Palestinians and had continued unabated in its ninth month, Marsudi noted.

“The grand sheikh highlighted the importance of unity among nations to achieve the immediate cessation of hostilities,” she remarked.

She highlighted that Jokowi and Al-Tayeb are on the same page regarding the need for the international community to continue pushing for a lasting ceasefire and uninterrupted distribution of humanitarian aid to those in need.
