BATAMCLICK.COM: On a focused Tuesday morning, a strategic meeting took place in a conference room at BP Batam. Government leaders, planning experts, and agency representatives gathered around one table, united by a shared mission: to accelerate the revision of Batam’s Detailed Spatial Planning Regulation (RDTR) as outlined in Mayor Regulation No. 60 of 2021.

The meeting was chaired by Batam’s Deputy Mayor and Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, and attended by Deputy 2 and Deputy 7 of BP Batam, along with Batam’s Regional Secretary Jefridin M.Pd. and planning specialists.

Jefridin announced the formation of a Special Task Team for Accelerating the RDTR Revision, focusing on seven strategic planning zones: Nongsa, Batam Kota, Bengkong, Lubuk Baja, Batu Ampar, Sekupang, and Batu Aji.

“The team consists of officials from Batam City Government, BP Batam, and spatial planning experts. Their goal is to fast-track the discussion and development of spatial structures and land-use patterns in each area,” said Jefridin.

The team is led by Fesly Abadi, Director of Infrastructure Planning at BP Batam, with Evy Yusriani as secretary, representing the City’s Spatial Planning Division.

But this is more than just a technical update. The revised RDTR will be integrated into the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, making business licensing in Batam faster, more responsive, and aligned with the latest investment trends and development dynamics.

“This initiative aims to adapt our spatial plans to the evolving needs of investors and communities. It’s about shaping Batam into a modern city that is well-organized, safe, and full of economic potential,” Jefridin added.

With strong collaboration between the city government and BP Batam, Batam is not just planning—it’s preparing for a smarter, more sustainable tomorrow.(rusdi)
